That excess could throw off the center of gravity and make it more unstable (and tire your arms more). I try to keep myself busy as best as possible in as many different ways as possible. I think variety is the best preventative medicine for boredom. So I try and alternate between coding and learning more web languages with photography and filming. I was working on redesigning this site as well as building that merlin steadicam at the same time so that I wouldn't fizzle out on any of the projects. They were both different enough to keep my focus for the day while I let my brain cool down and re-assess problems from the previous project. Thanks for the 2 links, I'll definitely check them out! However, as I got further and further along the path of being an "ok" programmer, I began to enjoy it a lot more. I love the aspect of having to think critically and debugging code (to a point. usually before being really frustrated and taking a time out). Also, the ability to know the entire ins and outs of a project is great and it allows me to think differently but within reason when I tackle my next project. So with that being said, I like programming and I like the process of creating and debugging. And although it did start as an afterthought to my design, it has grown on me and I do love experimenting new code and techniques. So I ask you, did you learn programming to fuel your design work or do you actually enjoy the process of programming and development? I have friends who can write fairly good code with time, but they really think of themselves as designers and that's what they want to be doing (leaving the coding up to someone else if possible).
